Check. Change. Control. Living with High Blood Pressure High blood pressure is a lifelong condition. Making healthy changes can help control blood pressure, and you should consider eating healthy and getting more physical activity to be lifelong habits. The same is true of taking medication. Dealing with side effects can be a difficult matter, but it’s worth working with your healthcare provider to manage side effects because taking medication can make a huge difference in how well you manage your blood pressure. Controlling your blood pressure means you’re lowering your risk for heart disease, heart attack, diabetes, stroke, and kidney disease. Most people who control their high blood pressure are able to live full, healthy lives.
